No old-school stuff here!

We have absolutely perfect facilities for our students. Our state-of the-art laboratories see millions of crowns of investment every year and our students are looked after by top-class tutors, academics and a helpful study department. But the student community itself also does a great job. That’s because here in Brno we really put a lot into our community and networking.

AdMaS Centre

By far the most modern research centre around. The AdMaS (Advanced Materials, Structures and Technologies) Centre is a modern science centre and a comprehensive construction-focused research institution, that’s an integral part of our faculty. It has modern laboratory facilities with state-of the-art equipment, including more than 250 devices and instruments worth worth US$15 million. It specialises in research into advanced building materials, structures and technologies, and their development and application in the field of urban and municipal construction, transportation systems and infrastructure. Here, students can work on their diplomas and dissertations or get involved in a wide range of research projects under the guidance of top-class experts.

Live the Brno life

The city has a truly incredible atmosphere.

This is clear from the dozens of awards the city has received in recent years.

Brno is a metropolis of clubs, bars, pubs, wine bars and cafés. When the sun comes out, we locals sit out on the sidewalks in the city centre late into the evening.

You can find vineyards just beyond the city limits. Or amazing caves and a huge chasm in the nearby famous Moravian Karst region.

Everything is within easy reach. And you can easily tackle the whole of the city centre on foot.

The renowned British

TIME OUT

magazine rated Brno the second most attractive city for tourists in Europe.

Right in the heart of Europe there’s a place that’s sure to capture your heart.

srdce

It’s hard to find a better base for long weekend trips in the region. Vienna and Bratislava are just a 90-minute train or bus ride away. It’s two hours to Prague and Ostrava, four to Budapest and Krakow. While studying in Brno, you can easily explore some of the best parts of Europe. And you can also take an express train to Berlin, Munich, Salzburg or Warsaw. Although, of course, there’s a good chance you won’t even want to leave Brno.

It’s mostly because the city is run by a community of young people. The city has „just“ 370,000 inhabitants, so everyone here kind of knows everyone else.
And there are countless places where you can meet other people. Within the university and the faculty, where there are some great student associations.
In Brno’s Musicclubs, in its parks and gardens, doing sports – pretty much anywhere.

And you’ll be a part of it, too.

You really have an extraordinary chance of meeting the right people in Brno.

Live well and enjoy yourself. That’s our motto.

If you want to live a little while you’re studying, Brno really is a great choice.

Public transport, accommodation, food and fun are way cheaper here than elsewhere.

Compared to Prague or Vienna, you can really save a ton of money here.

And that can come in handy - for studying, travelling, or perhaps some great local cuisine.

The public transport system here is excellent, and as a student you’ll pay less than 100 USD for an annual „Šalinkarta“ card.

Unmatched value for money.

According to Numbeo, a server that calculates the cost of living in various destinations around the world, Brno has long been one of the best choices for living in the heart of Europe.

Brno is a city of great talents and has always been an engineering incubator.

That’s just one of the reasons why it is such a popular destination for large corporations, headhunters and the startup community.

We admit that the phrase “Central European Silicon Valley” seems a bit over the top.

But we really are good at what we do within Central Europe.

What’s more, we have a long term record of connecting big business with a decent lifestyle.

We are great fans of sustainability - not only in environmental terms, but also in our approach to our own lives.
